Good wines, especially the desert wines, good parking and interesting history. The side road trip is picturesque as well.

This is a family owned winery that produces great Rieslings. Well worth a visit to try and Mrs Mitchell is very personable,welcoming and knowledgeable.

So glad we called by to see the home of one of our perennial favourites, Mitchell Peppertree Shiraz. It was lovely to learn more, but especially good to taste and invest in their outstanding McNicol Shiraz. Incredible depth from vines on the slopes behind the cellar door. Aged to perfection, this wine was a Clare Valley bonus, as was lunch at the outstanding Skillogalee Restaurant next door. Don't miss either destination.

I've had good memories of visiting Mitchell's years ago and it hasn't changed. Small friendly family-run winery with some excellent wines.

This family owned winery is always worth a visit. The Peppertree Shiraz (2008) is outstanding value as is the Watervale Reisling (2010) but if you want to experience the soul of the winery drink their cabernets.
