Take the cable car to the top of Bucegi Mountain and hike to the cross. You will see nice views from the mountain top. We opted to hike down afterward and it made for a great and active afternoon.

Don't know much about the landmark itself, actually, but getting there on the Jepii Mici trail is really great if you like the challenge. I went there in the summer and you don't need any special gear, just rain proof clothes to be safe and a pair of sturdy footwear. Add attention and balance to that, and everything will be fine. The view up there is excellent. Also, going back down with the cable car is a nice experience as well.

It is a very impressive monument! I saw it by day and also by night, with lights on. It looked....awsome! the trip to the monument is also very beautiful, lots of splendid landscapes!

I like very much to climb the mountain. The landscapes are incredible. You can use the cable car to Babele and then to walk. But if you like to climb, you will find many tourist routes.

This landmark is in fact a very tall metall cross built as a tribute to honor war heroes. The view of the Prahova Valley from beneath it is breathtaking - especially if you're lucky enought to have clear sky. The easiest way up and then back down is by cable transport from Busteni (but keep in mind it gets crowded during weekends and high season, especially on sunny days so make sure you enquire the staff about the time the last cabin descends), then a pleasant hike on the Bucegi Plateau. A few hours nicely spent! Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended, as well as something warm to wear in case the weather gets bad (can happen rather fast up there).

We got up with the gondola - consider some waiting time because there are only two small cabins. 70 Lei pp is quite a lot. When we arrived at the top we went to see Babele which are a way smaller than on the pictures you know. Went on to the Sfinx which is nice to take a picture. The walk to the heroes cross is definitly worth the effort - you have a superb vue from there. But: why do people leave all that waste on the mountains? The walk to the cross is like walking through a garbage disposal.

It's a marvel of engineering and a worthy place to visit. The road there is helping with calorie surplus and the view is "THE" view.

It's a monument that was built and dedicated to the heroes from the First World War. At night, the cross it's lighted and it's very beautiful to see it in the darkness..

The Heroes' Cross was built between 1926 and 1928 in the memory of the railway heroes who died on duty in World War I. The cross was erected at the initiative of Marie of Edinburgh and King Ferdinand of Romania in order to be seen from a large distance. Is located in the saddle of the Caraiman Mountains at an elevation of 2,291 metres (7,516 ft); it is unique in Europe, both by the location's altitude and by the monument's size. Has a height of 28 metres (92 ft) and two arms of 7 metres (23 ft) each.To get there tourists must first take the cable car from Busteni resort to Babele ( the Old Women - a strange rock formation) , from Babele a mountain trail takes you to the cross . Is a 2 hours hike, one way . I got there on very foggy day , so foggy that I could not see this massive cross even if it was 10 metres from me ha ha ha A few steps and I would have stumbled on is base or fall in the precipice on the other side .There is an amazing view of the valley and the resorts bellow from the cross . We were lucky enough for a few moments of clear sky and got to see it.
