if you take the time, you must stop there. Enjoy your lunch or dinner, visit the city and make sure that you fill you eyes with the picture perfect little town. beautiful place to take a break and stop time. have fine

Cadaques has been protected from mass tourism by the 25 minute car ride across the hills and is so much the better for this. We just love the scale of the place, it is big enough to have a lot to offer but small enough for everything to be within reach. A little piece of heaven.

We found this quaint little seaside town by surprise and we fell completely in love with it! Time moves slower here- absorb yourself in it and enjoy! Stroll the streets, take a swim, watch the fishing boats. The hometown of Salvador Dalí is spectacular. If you travel here in the busy season, plan ahead to buy your tickets to tour his childhood home. See why Pablo Picasso vacationed here.

This is a quaint fishing village where bass is caught locally (or so we are told). Very old and colorful doors, massive dark colored rock out-croppings, people on the beach, people preparing to sail, shopping areas, all offer wonderful opportunities to stroll about the grounds. Once you have lunch out of the way (try Bamboo's for the absolute best food and great dining eperience), do some hiking. This is one of those great opportunities to observe the local population (and not be too obvious about it) to truly experience the culture and the life of the people here. The buildings are white-washed and each of them is loaded with local flavor and character. It doesn't seem to be over-run with tourists (this is a fairly major whole-day outing). There is an old church that we never did find the right stairs to get up to (but it really doesn't matter), every alley and path delivers on those things memories are made of.We took our tour with Explore Catalunya and saw it all!

Long winding mountain road with the most beautiful scenery. We visited yesterday with beautiful weather our second visit. We visited a few years back with a camper van but were unable to stop. So this time we made the most of our time wandering one disappointment was we could not get tickets for the home of Dali we will be back again next year for that treat, another excuse to see the little town and scenery. A must visit if you are near we even drove a round trip of nearly 300miles to visit but very worth while. Thank goodness it will never change.

The road to Cadaques is a long winding road up a small mountain. The liocals like to make time, do not rush! The town itself is a pleasant place to take a stroll around. The Dali house is close by. That is well worth a visit. If you plan on going there book in advance, the groups are small and are guided by guides who will speak you language. His house was the highlight of the day.

Its true about the winding road once you leave the motorway. Its a lovely place with much scenery. Once you have seen the bay there is not a lot left to do. There are some good bars there that do food at reasonable prices

Returning from the seclusion of the mountains,we are faced with a new range of impressions. Following the winding road to Cadaques we come across the surreal world of Salvador Dali. His world is as secluded as the mountains that surround it,for the picturesque coastal village really opens up only to the sea. There is a natural sense of isolation, that, that can be felt.... grey-brown shale slopes around the village overlooked by its little baroque church, and where the houses huddle together across narrow alleys. the silver green of the olive trees and the opuntia contrast beautifully with the cheerful colours of the gardens at the edge of the village. You realise, why this unique location attracted artists and thinkers, including Picasso,Casas,Utrillo,Segovia and Dali whose presence attracted the cream of fellow artists...Breton,Margritte,lorca and Bunuel.

This little sea village is the perfect place to unwind in a quaint, artsy setting. It is as if you step back in time, but with modern necessities, such as wifi! Due to the windy mountain road you must traverse into Cadaques, and the narrow, old windy streets in the village, big development will not occur here. There are only small Mom and Pop hotels, B&B's, restaurants, shops and bars/cafes. Many of the restaurants have seating right on the water's edge. What a unique little gem of a town! We will definitely return to this little village by the sea!

It was a good hiking. The path starts just in the camping and is tagged with two horizontal lines (red and green). The whole route was about 15km and it includes some nice dips into some of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean sea (for example, Cala Jugadora). We reached to the lighthouse in Cap de Creus, visited Cove de s'Infern (Hell's Cave) and turn back. Really nice landscapes all over the way.

We took a drive from Roses to the village of Cadaques. It is a beautiful little village with plenty of different shops, restaurants and is such a beautiful scenic place to visit.
