ridgeland common park & pool

Having enjoyed the Oak park ridge land commons pool frequently because my little guy enjoys his swim lessons their, but this place just doesn't make any sense. The layout after renovation seems to have been not well thought out. Forest Park pool is so much more fun with slides and all that fun stuff. Here all you get is water and shade if you arrive early, if not you get those shade Hogs.

The pool supervisor has dictated that loud music plays non-stop at this pool. The music is not only amped out, but it's lame pop music. Why must I be forced to listen to music that I have not selected at a volume that I find distracting. I'm not going to buy a pool pass next year.

The pool and ice rink are so popular they had to close them for reconstruction to make them even better.

Old and out of date -- relatively poor ice quality and the locker rooms are a disaster. Hopefully the renovation will make a difference.

I love this place, go there every summer and never regret to be a member! Have fun, thank you Oak Park!

Came here with my boyfriend to run some hill intervals-- a tall order in Illinois at all, and especially in Oak Park. But there's a super steep hill with some stairs, which was actually perfect for some sprinting, and the water fountain behind the backstop of the little baseball diamond delivered cool water on an over-90 degree day. It gets loud when the trains go by, but it was an absolutely perfect place for what we were looking to do!
