penn farm at cedar hill state park

Spectacular scenic abandoned farm with beautiful views. Lean about old farming techniques and see the barn and stables of ancient Texans.

Tour is in full sun but a nice walk. Leaders were informative but a little long-winded for little kids. We went to the honey presentation, farm tour and butter churning. No samples of the butter was disappointing, but I understand the liability issue and why they can't share. A small disappointment nonetheless.

Very cool and interesting farm. We all liked it. I guess Cedar Hill State Park was really concerned about its guests visiting Penn Farm because they sure didn't want you to burden yourself with a fat wallet. I just think $7 bucks is an outrage to get into a state park. People complained at the $5 level, but the state park system is going to hurt itself at $7.
